Proceedings ArticleDOI
Possibility of energy saving by introducing energy conversion and energy storage technologies in traction power supply system
Hitoshi Hayashiya,Shinya Kikuchi,Kazushi Matsuura,Masami Hino,Masateru Tojo,Kato Tetsuya,Masato Ando,Takatoshi Oikawa,Mitsuru Kamata,Hiroshi Munakata +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, three realized and under construction projects are summarized which enhance efficiency of traction power supply system, including the installation of lithium ion battery at Haijima Substation on February 20th, 2013 to make use of regenerative power in d.c. traction power and will start operation in the end of 2013 fiscal year.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Lithium-ion battery installation in traction power supply system for regenerative energy utilization Initial report of effect evaluation after half a year operation
Hitoshi Hayashiya,Daisuke Hara,Masateru Tojo,Koichi Watanabe,Masami Hino,Takashi Suzuki,Hidetoshi Okamoto,Hirotaka Takahashi,Kato Tetsuya,Masato Teshima +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of Li-ion battery system installed at HAIJIMA SS is evaluated based on the measured data during the practical operation and it is shown that it contributes to more than 5% reduction of total traction power supply at Haijima Substation.
Patent
Power storage device
Okamatsu Shigetoshi,Ito Tomomichi,Tejima Masato,Masateru Tojo,Kato Tetsuya,Hitoshi Hayashiya +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a power storage device is configured to adjust storage or discharge of power in a DC-side load by constituting a DC power source from an AC power source including internal impedance through a rectifier.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Effect evaluation of Li-ion battery for regenerative energy utilization in traction power supply system
Hitoshi Hayashiya,Takashi Suzuki,Masami Hino,Daisuke Hara,Masateru Tojo,Shigeo Shimada,Kishin Kudo,Kato Tetsuya,Hirotaka Takahashi +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of energy storage system for energy saving by making use of regenerative energy is evaluated in detail, according to their experiences, the annual effects of EH storage systems at HAIJIMA SS and OKEGAWA SS are 400MWh/year and 600 or 700MWh /year, respectively.
