Journal ArticleDOI
Cannabis use and earlier onset of psychosis: a systematic meta-analysis.
TL;DR: The results of meta-analysis provide evidence for a relationship between cannabis use and earlier onset of psychotic illness, and they support the hypothesis that cannabis use plays a causal role in the development of psychosis in some patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suicide Rates After Discharge From Psychiatric Facilities: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Daniel Thomas Chung,Chris Ryan,Dusan Hadzi-Pavlovic,Swaran P. Singh,Clive Stanton,Matthew Large +5 more
TL;DR: The immediate postdischarge period is a time of marked risk, but rates of suicide remain high for many years after discharge, and patients admitted because of suicidal ideas or behaviors and those in the first months after discharge should be a particular focus of concern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Violence in first-episode psychosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis
TL;DR: A substantial proportion of patients in first-episode psychosis commit an act of violence before presenting for treatment, including a number who commit an acts of more serious violence causing injury to another person, but severe violence resulting in serious or permanent injury to the victim is uncommon in this population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Considerations for spectroscopy of liquid-exfoliated 2D materials: emerging photoluminescence of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone.
Sean P. Ogilvie,Matthew Large,Giuseppe Fratta,Manuela Meloni,Ruben Canton-Vitoria,Nikos Tagmatarchis,Florian Massuyeau,Christopher P. Ewels,Alice A. K. King,Alan B. Dalton +9 more
TL;DR: The emerging optical properties of the degraded solvent present challenges for spectroscopy of nanomaterial dispersions; most notably the possibility of observing solvent photoluminescence in the spectra of 2D materials such as MoS2, highlighting the need for stable solvents and exfoliation processes to minimise the influence of solvent degradation on the properties of liquid-exfoliated 2D material.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and Risk Factors of Violence by Psychiatric Acute Inpatients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
TL;DR: It is suggested that almost 1 in 5 patients admitted to acute psychiatric units may commit an act of violence, similar to factors that are associated with violence among individual patients.
