Journal ArticleDOI

Phosphate adsorption on metal oxides and metal hydroxides: A comparative review

TL;DR: In this paper, metal oxides and metal hydroxides have been developed and investigated for phosphorus removal, which is important for eutrophication control of water bodies, and they have been applied to wastewater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improving abiotic reducing ability of hydrothermal biochar by low temperature oxidation under air

TL;DR: Low temperature oxidization is an effective way to improve and restore abiotic reducing ability of hydrochar and demonstrates prominent prevail over H2O2 absent control test.
Journal ArticleDOI

High and long-term antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli via synergy between the antibiotic penicillin G and its carrier ZnAl layered double hydroxide

TL;DR: PNG/LDH with much higher cost-effectiveness showed a potent antimicrobial activity and maintained the activity for up to 10 days, significantly elongating the antibacterial effect compared with just 1 day for free PNG in the same conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expanded graphite loaded with lanthanum oxide used as a novel adsorbent for phosphate removal from water: performance and mechanism study.

TL;DR: Adsorption kinetics investigation showed that the pseudo-second-order model fits the experimental data quite well, indicating that the adsorption process is mainly a process of chemical Adsorption, and chloride ions compete to react with the active sites of the adsorbent but do not prevent phosphate from adsorbing onto EG-LaO.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facile fabrication of ZnO decorated ZnFe-layered double hydroxides @ biochar nanocomposites for synergistic photodegradation of tetracycline under visible light

TL;DR: In this article , a series of ZnO decorated ZnFe-layered double hydroxide @ biochar (ZnO/[email protected]) nanocomposites were obtained via a facile hydrothermal method.
