Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the human urinary proteome: A method for high-resolution display of urinary proteins on two-dimensional electrophoresis gels with a yield of nearly 1400 distinct protein spots
Rembert Pieper,Christine L. Gatlin,Andrew M. McGrath,Anthony J. Makusky,Madhu Mondal,Michael D Seonarain,Erin Field,Courtney R. Schatz,Marla A. Estock,Nasir Ahmed,Norman G. Anderson,Sandra Steiner +11 more
TL;DR: A protein fractionation strategy enriching proteins of molecular masses lower than 30 kDa in a fraction separate from larger proteins is described, which led to the successful identification of 30% of the proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cholesterol biosynthesis regulation and protein changes in rat liver following treatment with fluvastatin.
Sandra Steiner,Christine L. Gatlin,John Lennon,Andrew M. McGrath,Michael D Seonarain,Anthony J. Makusky,Angel M. Aponte,Ricardo Esquer-Blasco,N. Leigh Anderson +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that HMG-CoA synthase and isopentenyl-diphosphate delta-isomerase may be explored as alternative drug targets and that the induction levels of these enzymes may serve as a measure of potency of individual statin drugs.
