Novel pathways for the preparation of mesoporous MCM-41 materials: control of porosity and morphology

TL;DR: In this paper, two novel synthesis routes for the preparation of mesoporous MCM-41 materials are introduced, which use tetra-n-alkoxysilanes such as tetraethioxysilane (TEOS) or tetra n-propoxysilicane (TPS) as a silica source which are added to an aqueous solution of a cationic surfactant in the presence of ammonia as catalyst.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel synthesis of spherical MCM-48

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel synthesis route was developed for the cubic member of the M41S family, MCM-48, with a three-dimensional pore system allowing the formation of submicrometre-to micrometer-sized beads with a narrow pore-size distribution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pore Size Analysis of MCM-41 Type Adsorbents by Means of Nitrogen and Argon Adsorption

TL;DR: Methods of nonlocal density functional theory (NLDFT), proposed recently for predictions of adsorption equilibrium and calculations of pore size distributions in micro- and mesoporous materials, were tested on reference MCM-41 materials and support the NLDFT model as a suitable tool for characterizing nanoporous materials and predicting adsorptive equilibrium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of an ordered mesoporous aluminosilicate, silica, alumina, titania and zirconia in normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatography

TL;DR: The mesoporous aluminosilicate MCMMCM-41 as mentioned in this paper is an ordered mesopore material with a regular pore structure composed of an assembly of hexagonal tubes with a pore diameter of 4 nm.
