Journal ArticleDOI

Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair for Degenerative Mitral Regurgitation.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the outcomes of transcatheter mitral valve repair for degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR) in a real-world setting, defined as moderate or less residual MR and a mean mitral gradient of less than 10 mm Hg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Response to Letters Regarding Article, “Saphenous Vein Graft Failure After Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: Insights From PREVENT IV”

TL;DR: This study was not designed to determine the effect of endoscopic vein harvesting on vein graft failure (VGF), and as with any observational analysis of an assignable intervention, these results should be interpreted with care because of potential residual confounding.
Journal ArticleDOI

Percutaneous mitral valve therapy: when? Which patients?

TL;DR: Although the field of transcatheter treatment of aortic stenosis is proceeding at a brisk pace with commercial approval of two devices in Europe, percutaneous treatment of mitral regurgitation has progressed at a much more measured pace.
Journal ArticleDOI

Why Surgical Risk Algorithms Are Not Predictive of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Outcomes

TL;DR: The observed mortality rates at 1 year were substantially lower than predicted by the LES with observed/predicted mortality ratio ranging from 0.12 to 0.26, and it is concluded that both LES and a more recent version, EuroSCORE II had poor discrimination and calibration power for predicting TAVR outcomes.
