A surge protection system including a pluggable surge protection cartridge and its corresponding base is disclosed. The cartridge includes a housing, a surge protection assembly situated within the housing containing a surge protection element and a plurality of cartridge contacts in electrical contact with the surge protection assembly. The cartridge contacts are configured to engage a base within an electrical load center to carry a surge current from the load center across an electrical path of the surge protection assembly through the surge protection element. The cartridge is configured to be situated within the base such that the cartridge is removable from the base while the base remains in electrical contact with the load center.

Pluggable surge protection system

The invention relates to a novel surge protection device which mainly comprises a breaking switch, a tripping mechanism, an inertia device (inertia wheel), a displacement buffer elastic sheet, an electromagnet, a bimetallic strip, a lightning protection element, an upper terminal and a lower terminal. The upper terminal is connected with the breaking switch, the electromagnet, the lightning protection element and the lower terminal in series. The electromagnet can drive the tripping mechanism to move, the displacement buffer elastic sheet and the inertia device (inertia wheel) are arranged on the tripping mechanism, it is guaranteed that the device moves as long as an ejector rod of the electromagnet moves continuously, the ejector rod of the electromagnet moves fast and restores at the moment that lightning currents pass, the tripping mechanism does not move, and it is guaranteed that the breaking switch accurately switches off an SPD fault access. The temperature of the lightning protection element is transmitted to the bimetallic strip through a heat conduction paster, and when the temperature is too high, the bimetallic strip can be deformed to drive the tripping mechanism to move to switch off the circuit. The novel surge protection device has the comprehensive lightning preventing function, power frequency short-circuit currents can be switched off fast, tripping is carried out when leakage currents are too high, the lightning currents are discharged smoothly, and the novel surge protection device is convenient to mount, safe and effective.

A printed circuit board (PCB) assembly for use with first and second cables terminated with first and second cable lugs, respectively, wherein each of the first and second cable lugs includes two lug holes defined therein, the includes a PCB and a terminal block. The terminal block includes an electrically insulating base mounted on the PCB, and at least one electrically conductive conductor member mounted on the base and electrically connected to the PCB. The at least one conductor member is configured to engage each of the first and second cable lugs through the four lug holes thereof to electrically in-line terminate the first and second cables at the terminal block.

A DIN rail device mount system includes a base, a module and a locking mechanism. The base is configured to be mounted on a DIN rail. The base defines a receiver slot. The module is configured to be removably mounted in the receiver slot to form a DIN rail mount assembly. The locking mechanism includes: a lock member having opposed proximal and distal ends and including an integral lock member latch feature on its distal end, wherein the lock member is pivotally connected to the base at its proximal end to pivot between a closed position and an open position; and an integral module latch feature on the module. The DIN rail mount system is selectively positionable in each of: a locked configuration wherein the module is seated in the receiver slot, the lock member is in the closed position, and the lock member latch feature is interlocked with the module latch feature, whereby the lock member secures the module in the receiver slot; and an unlocked configuration wherein the lock member is in the open position, the lock member latch feature is not interlocked with the module latch feature, and the module can be withdrawn from the receiver slot.
