Determination of optimal parameters for a hydraulic power take-off unit of a wave energy converter in regular waves

TL;DR: In this paper, a heaving point absorber is connected to a hydraulic power take-off (PTO) unit in regular waves and two cases for the hydraulic PTO unit are considered: an ideal model and a model containing losses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synchronous Position Recovery Control for Flexible Rotors in Contact with Auxiliary Bearings

TL;DR: In this paper, a methology for the active recovery of contact free levitation of a flexible rotor from a state of persistent contact with auxiliary bearings is presented, where compensation forces are applied by magnetic bearings to reduce the effective synchronous forcing driving the contact, so that the rotor can progress to a contact free orbit.
Journal ArticleDOI

The vibration control of speed-dependent flexible rotor/magnetic bearing systems using linear matrix inequality gain-scheduled H∞ design:

TL;DR: In this paper, a linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based gain-scheduling approach is proposed to maintain closed-loop stability over the full speed range. But, the results are limited to a flexible rotor/magnetic bearing facility.
