Madison Canning,Gang Guo,Miao Yu,Calvin Wint Maung Myint,Michael W. Groves,James Kenneth Byrd,Yan Cui +6 more
TL;DR: There is an urgent and unmet need for the identification of specific molecular signatures that better predict the clinical outcomes and markers that serve as better therapeutic targets for HNSCC patients with recurrent disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Occult Metastasis in Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis:
Daniel D. Sharbel,Mary Abkemeier,Michael W. Groves,William G. Albergotti,J. Kenneth Byrd,Camilo Reyes-Gelves +5 more
TL;DR: Patients with advanced T-stage laryngeal SCC should undergo elective neck treatment and more aggressive treatment for patients with history of OM should be considered due to the risk of subsequent regional and distant metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fascia Lata Free Flap Anastomosed to the Superior Trochlear System for Reconstruction of the Anterior Skull Base.
TL;DR: The STA is a constant vessel with a 2.5 to 3.0 mm2 diameter in men and women that can be used as a recipient free flap vessel that can cover the entire skull base when local flaps are not available.

Implementation of an interdisciplinary tracheostomy care protocol to decrease rates of tracheostomy-related pressure ulcers and injuries.
Daniel J. Carroll,Christopher J. Leto,Zao M. Yang,Mark A. Fritz,Brian Ho,J. Kenneth Byrd,Michael W. Groves,Kevin C. Dellsperger,Stilianos E. Kountakis,Gregory N. Postma +9 more
TL;DR: Interdisciplinary peri-operative tracheostomy care protocols can be effective in decreasing rates of TRPI, and a negative correlation between age and post-operative day of diagnosis indicates that older patients develop TRPI more quickly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salivary Clear Cell Carcinoma Clinicopathologic Characteristics and Outcomes: A Population-Based Analysis.
TL;DR: Patients with localized disease and those treated with surgery alone have more favorable prognoses and male patients and those with regional or distant metastatic disease at time of presentation carry a worse prognosis.
