Journal ArticleDOI

Human Stanniocalcin Inhibits Renal Phosphate Excretion in the Rat

TL;DR: Together, the renal clearance and membrane vesicle data indicate that hSTC participates in the renal regulation of Pi homeostasis in mammals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stanniocalcin in the seawater salmon: structure, function, and regulation

TL;DR: The results suggest that there is a second form of STC in salmon, which exhibited a Ca2+ sensitivity that was remarkably similar to those in freshwater salmon in terms of its ability to stimulate STC secretion and gene expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunocytochemical localization of stanniocalcin cells in the rat kidney.

TL;DR: To map the overall spatial distribution of STC cells in mammalian kidney, using the rat as a model system, renally derived STC may be acting in an autocrine, paracrine and/or endocrine fashion to regulate one or more of these transport processes.
