Free electron laser
Michel Billardon,Yves Petroff,Jean-Michel Ortega,Pascal Elleaume,Claude Bazin,Maurice Bergher,Michel Velghe,Dave A.G. Deacon,John M.J. Madey +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a two-state alternation of the electron/photon interaction on the laser: a state I in which they alter the optimal conditions for laser amplification; and a state II in which reestablish said optimal conditions, which control devices permit the improvement of the peak amplitude and stability of the laser pulses and the rate and stable of the pulse period.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Stanford Mark III infrared free electron laser
Stephen V. Benson,John M. J. Madey,John F. Schultz,Marcel Marc,Werner Wadensweiler,Glen A. Westenskow,Michel Velghe +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a compact infrared free electron laser using a conventional linear accelerator and a broadband optical cavity was built and operated, and the gain was measured to be 28% and saturation was obtained with a 2.5 μs macropulse.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Status of the free-electron laser experiment on the Super-ACO storage ring
TL;DR: In this paper, the permanent magnet optical klystron was used for the first storage ring Free Electron Laser (FEL) operation at 600MeV with two opposite bunches, separated by 120ns.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quelques expériences relatant l'induction d'ondes acoustiques dans divers milieux matériels traversés par ou ayant subi l'impact d'impulsions laser
Marc Bruma,Michel Velghe +1 more
TL;DR: The methode de demodulation de a faisceau Laser par des couches minces de sulfure de cadmium has been proposed in this article, a methode capable of demodulating a fisceau without perturbing its propagation.

Laser à électrons libres perfectionné
M. Billardon,Yves Petroff,Jean-Michel Ortega,Pascal Elleaume,Claude Bazin,Maurice Bergher,Michel Velghe,Dave A.G. Deacon,John M.J. Madey +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a laser is defined as an anneau de stockage consisting of a section en liqne droite and an equipee d'un onduleur.
