Incarceration has a multitude of effects on prisoners’ finances, health, education, employment, and family relationships. Incarceration complicates the maintenance of attachment bonds between romantic partners. Data from the Multi‐site Family Study on Incarceration, Parenting, and Partnering were analyzed to examine the effects of childhood stability on adult romantic attachment while controlling for the effects of PTSD and depression within the carceral population. Findings indicate that posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression have statistically significant effects on adult romantic attachment. PTSD on romantic attachment for men is statistically significant (p < 0.05) at −0.193 with an overall standardized effect of −0.086. For women, the effect is statistically significant (p < 0.01) at −0.235 with an overall standardized effect of −0.1. Effects of depression on romantic attachment for men is statistically significant (p < 0.001) −0.129 with an overall standardized effect of −0.229. For women, depression is also statistically significant (p < 0.001) at −0.153 with a standardized effect of −0.265. We examined the effects of childhood stability on adult romantic attachment while controlling for the effects of PTSD and depression within the carceral population. Findings supported our hypothesis that individuals with better childhood stability will experience better romantic attachments. Findings related to our hypothesis that having a partner with better childhood stability is positively associated with better romantic attachment produced mixed results. Clinical implications are discussed, and future directions call for research, practice, and training to improve outcomes for justice‐involved romantic partners, their attachment, and consideration of covariates of depression and PTSD.

Background College counselling can be considered as a front-line service in detecting and managing mental health issues within young adults. In this sense, it is important to investigate the effectiveness of counselling interventions. Objective To provide a systematic review about college counselling in Italy; to assess which psychological interventions really meet student needs, and their effectiveness; to focus on the level of cohesion between Italian counselling services and the international guidelines about college counselling. Method A systematic review about college counselling through PsycInfo and PubMed was carried out. Because of the scarceness of pertinent available articles, the survey was extended to Google Scholar and Riviste Web. Keywords: counselling, mental health, wellbeing, psychological support, university, students, Italy. Results Out of thirty-four articles retrieved, 16 are relevant to academic counselling, the other 18 have been considered not pertinent to the aim of the present review. Data show a lack of homogeneity in methodology and organization between each University: different approaches towards students' needs. Furthermore, no follow-up studies or measurement of effectiveness were found. Conclusion This review is a contribution to disseminate the results of counselling experiences in Italy and represents an effort to encourage colleagues working in a web environment to share results and methods for a more organized protocol application.

Detecting and Managing Mental Health Issues within Young Adults. A Systematic Review on College Counselling in Italy.

The article n°34 of the Italian Constitution establishes that the school is open to all, without any reference to the personal conditions of the student that can be deprived of his freedom. This right to education is inviolable. The education is an es-sential element to reach the re-educational function of the sentence. The article n°17 of the Norms for the Penitentiary System establishes the important role of the in the external community and of private and public subjects to help in re-educating and re-socializing prisoners. In normal conditions there are often contradictions between the principle and the reality of prison condition so in a condition of crisis such as the covid-19 pandemic there is a high risk to break important achievements in this part. Our article starts from thoughts on the right to study in prison and on the history of Criminology’s attention to the treatment of the offender and from studies on the sector of sentence execution. Dropouts from a university counselling service: a quantitative and qualitative study

The study aimed at investigating the role of confidence in attachment relationships and marital status as protective factors for incarcerated fathers’ self-perceived parental role and in-person contacts with their children. Participants included 150 inmate fathers and 145
nonincarcerated control fathers who provided background sociodemographic information and completed two self-reports, the Attachment Style Questionnaire and the Self-Perception of Parental Role. A two-phased cluster analytic plan allowed us to highlight two profiles of self-perceived parental roles, with incarceration and low confidence in attachment relationships increasing the risk of the less optimal of the two profiles. Higher confidence in attachment relationships and having a stable romantic relationship increased the likelihood of incarcerated fathers engaging in frequent contacts with their children, while the profile of self-perceived parental role had no effect. Implications for practice are discussed, and suggestions for further research are provided.

Confidence in Attachment Relationships and Marital Status as Protective Factors for Self-Perceived Parental Role and In-Person Visitation with Children Among Incarcerated Fathers.

Il presente contributo rende noti i risultati di una ricerca condotta con l’obiettivo di valutare l’efficacia del counselling psicodinamico rivolto a studenti universitari. Il gruppo clinico e costituito da 79 studenti che si sono rivolti al Servizio di Consultazione Psicologica dell’Universita di Bari e che hanno svolto un ciclo di 5 colloqui a cadenza settimanale con un terapeuta di formazione psicodinamica. Il gruppo non clinico (gruppo di controllo) e costituito da 79 studenti, appaiati ai soggetti del gruppo clinico per sesso, eta e facolta di provenienza, i quali non si sono mai sottoposti ad alcun trattamento psicologico. Agli studenti di entrambi i gruppi e stato somministrato l’Adjective Check List (ACL: Gough, Heilbrun e Fioravanti, 1980), per due volte, a 5 settimane di distanza l’una dall’altra, ovvero prima e dopo il trattamento per i soggetti del gruppo clinico. L’analisi dei risultati mostra che, mentre gli studenti del gruppo non clinico non riportano alcuna variazione significativa sulle dimensioni misurate dalla checklist, i soggetti del gruppo clinico, dopo il trattamento, migliorano il proprio stato di benessere, pur mostrando una riduzione della propria creativita.
