The FFT Moving Average (FFT-MA) Generator: An Efficient Numerical Method for Generating and Conditioning Gaussian Simulations
TL;DR: A fast Fourier transform moving average (FFT-MA) method for generating Gaussian stochastic processes is derived and provides a tool theoretically capable to determine the random numbers identifying the Gaussian field as well as the structural parameters from dynamic data.
Journal ArticleDOI
High- and low-frequency elastic moduli for a saturated porous/cracked rock-Differential self-consistent and poroelastic theories
Mickaele Le Ravalec,Yves Guéguen +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, Henyey and Pomphrey developed a differential self-consistent model that is shown to be a good approximation for porous/cracked rocks, but as it considers cracks with zero thickness, it can not account for fluid content effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elastic wave velocities in partially saturated rocks: Saturation hysteresis
TL;DR: In this article, an effective medium approach is used to calculate elastic wave velocities in rocks containing spherical pores and ellipsoidal cracks with two fluid phases, and the results are applied to the case of imbibition/drainage processes performed in the laboratory (at high frequencies).

Method for updating a geologic model by seismic data
TL;DR: In this article, a method of predicting petrophysical characteristics of an underground reservoir by constructing a geologic model consistent with seismic measurements is disclosed which permits optimization of oil reservoir development schemes.
Journal ArticleDOI
History matching of petroleum reservoir models by the Ensemble Kalman Filter and parameterization methods
TL;DR: This work proposes to combine the EnKF with two parameterization methods designed to preserve second-order statistical properties: pilot points and gradual deformation to prevent the departure of the constrained petrophysical property distributions from prior information.
