TL;DR: Patients with schizophrenia or schizophrenia spectrum disorders and general population control groups scored significantly higher than controls in harm avoidance and self-transcendence and lower in self-directedness and cooperativeness, and first-degree relatives showed a tendency to lower novelty seeking and Self-Transcendence than controls.

Relation between psychotic symptoms, parental care and childhood trauma in severe mental disorders.

TL;DR: There seems to be a link between trauma in childhood and psychotic symptomatology across different populations independently of psychiatric diagnosis, and an affectionless control rearing style was directly associated with the existence of trauma.
