TL;DR: In this paper, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of convalescent plasma with high IgG titers against SARS-CoV-2 in older adult patients within 72 hours after the onset of mild Covid-19 symptoms was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of IgG against N-protein of SARS-CoV2 in COVID19 clinical outcomes.
Mayank Batra,Runxia Tian,Chongxu Zhang,Emile Clarence,Camila Sofia Sacher,Justin Nestor Miranda,Justin Rafa O. De La Fuente,Megan Mathew,D.R. Green,Sayari Patel,Maria Virginia Perez Bastidas,Sara Haddadi,Mukunthan Murthi,Miguel Santiago Gonzalez,Shweta Kambali,K. Santos,Huda Asif,Farzaneh Modarresi,Mohammad Ali Faghihi,Mehdi Mirsaeidi +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of high titers of IgG against N-protein on clinical outcomes of SARS-CoV2 disease has not been described, and the authors studied 400 RT-PCR confirmed SARS CoV2 patients to determine independent factors associated with poor outcomes, including Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) admission, prolonged MICU stay and hospital admissions, and in-hospital mortality.

TL;DR: It was shown that higher CCI and higher IL6 levels were independently associated with in-hospital mortality, and several factors, including Charlson comorbidity Index, high levels of IL6, and presentation with dyspnea were associated with poor clinical outcomes.

TL;DR: Early administration of high-titer convalescent plasma against SARS-CoV2 to mildly ill infected seniors reduced COVID-19 progression and facilitates access to treatment from industrialized to LMIC, can decompress demands on hospitals, and may contribute to save lives.
