AVO Inversion And Direct Hydrocarbon Detection

TL;DR: In this article, a prediction error style of model parameterization is designed to detect the presence of hydrocarbons as anomalies relative to the background reflectivity, and the three-term linearized approximation to the Zoeppritz equations is reformulated such that one term is sufficient to model the background reflection, where the apriori assumptions are valid.
