Rybicki,Reuben M. Cherniack +22 more
TL;DR: Several exposures associated with sarcoidosis risk were identified, including insecticides, agricultural employment, and microbial bioaerosols, which were identified in univariable and multivariable analyses.

Dual Time Point 18F-FDG PET Imaging for Differentiating Malignant from Inflammatory Processes
Hongming Zhuang,Michael Pourdehnad,Eric S. Lambright,Alvin J. Yamamoto,Michael Lanuti,Peiyong Li,P D Mozley,Milton D. Rossman,Steven M. Albelda,Abass Alavi +9 more
TL;DR: The preliminary data show that dual time FDG PET scans appears to be useful in distinguishing malignant from benign lesions, and FDG uptake in mononuclear cells was decreased in 7 of 8 donors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Familial aggregation of sarcoidosis. A case-control etiologic study of sarcoidosis (ACCESS).
Benjamin A. Rybicki,Michael C. Iannuzzi,Margaret Frederick,Bruce Thompson,Milton D. Rossman,Eddy A. Bresnitz,Michael L. Terrin,David R. Moller,Juliana Barnard,Robert P. Baughman,Louis DePalo,Gary W. Weinberger,Henry Yeager,Reuben Cherniack +22 more
TL;DR: A significant elevated risk of sarcoidosis was observed among first- and second-degree relatives of sarCOidosis cases compared with relatives of matched control subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
HLA-DRB1*1101: A Significant Risk Factor for Sarcoidosis in Blacks and Whites
Milton D. Rossman,Bruce Thompson,Margaret Frederick,Mary J. Maliarik,Michael C. Iannuzzi,Benjamin A. Rybicki,Janardan P. Pandey,Lee S. Newman,Eleni Magira,Bojana Beznik-Cizman,Dimitri S. Monos +10 more
TL;DR: A genetic predisposition for sarcoidosis is confirmed and evidence for the allelic variation at the HLA-DRB1 locus as a major contributor is presented and significant differences were observed in the distribution of HLA class II alleles between blacks and whites.
