Liquid Metal Embrittlement Cracking During Resistance Spot Welding of Galvanized Q&P980 Steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the susceptibility of hot-dipped galvanized Q&P980 steel to LME cracking during resistance spot welding was systematically investigated by an orthogonal experiment, and cracks were detected by fluorescent magnetic particle testing and cross-sectional microscopic observation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical and experimental investigations on the enhancement of the tensile shear strength for resistance spot welded TWIP steel

TL;DR: In this article , a special method by simultaneously inserting the interlayers of Al foils and interstitial-free steel (IFS) is proposed to directly manipulate the nugget structure and enhance the tensile shear strength.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zn penetration and its coupled interaction with the grain boundary during the resistance spot welding of the QP980 steel

TL;DR: In this article , the relationship between LME crack propagation and Fe-Zn IMCs during the resistance spot welding of the galvanized QP980 steel was systematically investigated, and the results showed that LME cracks were mainly generated in the center of the weld (type I crack) and the shoulders of the welding (type II crack).
