Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic impact of immunohistochemically defined germinal center phenotype in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients treated with immunochemotherapy.
Heidi Nyman,Heidi Nyman,Magdalena Adde,Marja-Liisa Karjalainen-Lindsberg,Minna Taskinen,Minna Taskinen,Mattias Berglund,Rose-Marie Amini,Carl Blomqvist,Carl Blomqvist,Gunilla Enblad,Sirpa Leppä,Sirpa Leppä +12 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that rituximab in combination with chemotherapy seems to eliminate the prognostic value of immunohistochemically defined GC- and non-GC phenotypes in DLBCL.
Journal ArticleDOI
A high tumor-associated macrophage content predicts favorable outcome in follicular lymphoma patients treated with rituximab and cyclophosphamide-doxorubicin-vincristine-prednisone.
TL;DR: The data suggest that high TAM score is associated with a favorable prognosis in FL patients treated with immunochemotherapy, and high TAM content remained an independent prognostic factor for OS and PFS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic influence of macrophages in patients with diffuse large B-Cell lymphoma: A correlative study from a nordic phase ii trial
Sari Riihijärvi,Idun Fiskvik,Minna Taskinen,Heli Vajavaara,Maria Tikkala,Olav Erich Yri,Marja-Liisa Karjalainen-Lindsberg,Jan Delabie,Erlend B. Smeland,Harald Holte,Sirpa Leppä +10 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that macrophages exhibit a dual, treatment-specific role in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and for the patients treated with chemoimmunotherapy, high pretreatment CD68 mRNA levels and CD68+ macrophage numbers predict a favorable outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic influence of tumor-infiltrating mast cells in patients with follicular lymphoma treated with rituximab and CHOP
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that a high MC score is associated with unfavorable prognosis and it eliminates the positive prognostic value of TAMs in patients with FL treated with immunochemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Male gender is an adverse prognostic factor in B‐cell lymphoma patients treated with immunochemotherapy*
Sari Riihijärvi,Sari Riihijärvi,Minna Taskinen,Minna Taskinen,Mats Jerkeman,Sirpa Leppä,Sirpa Leppä +6 more
TL;DR: The results support the idea that women seem to respond better to rituximab, and female patients had a significantly better progression‐free survival than men both in DLBCL and in FL patients treated with immunochemotherapy.
