Microscopic and submicron components of atmospheric particulate matter during high asthma periods in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identified the various components contributing to atmospheric particulate matter in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, during the period from the end of April and the months of July-August in 1992, covering the autumn period which is typically the period of high asthma incidence in Brisbane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial remains in some earliest Earth rocks: Comparison with a potential modern analogue

TL;DR: In this article, a multidisciplinary approach to the characterisation of carbonaceous matter was undertaken using organic petrology, TEM coupled with electron dispersive spectral analysis (EDS), high resolution TEM (HRTEM) to determine molecular ordering, and elemental and carbon isotope geochemistry.
BookDOI

Coalbed methane : scientific, environmental, and economic evaluation

TL;DR: Mastalerz et al. as mentioned in this paper modeled coal-sourced liquid hydrocarbons and oil generation in Hydrothermal systems and showed the effect of thermal history on quantity, quality, Retention and migration of coalbed Methane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Petrographic and isotope constraints on the origin of authigenic carbonate minerals and the associated fluid evolution in Late Permian coal measures, Bowen Basin (Queensland), Australia

TL;DR: Authigenic carbonate minerals are ubiquitous throughout the Late Permian coal measures of the Bowen Basin, Queensland, Australia as discussed by the authors, where they formed as an early diagenetic mineral from meteoric waters under cold climate and reducing conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The thermal history of the Bowen Basin, Queensland, Australia: vitrinite reflectance and clay mineralogy of Late Permian coal measures

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal history of the Bowen Basin (Queensland, Australia) has been investigated using vitrinite reflectance data and clay mineralogy, and it was shown that the maximum temperatures which induced organic maturation of Bowen Basin coals and extensive clay mineralisation are not related to deep burial metamorphism during the latest Middle Triassic-earliest Late Triassic as previously believed.
