Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular dynamics mechanism to generate species differences in inhibition of protoporphyrinogen oxidase by flumioxazin

TL;DR: MD simulations of human, rat, and rabbit PPO–flumioxazin complexes found that rat PPO exhibited a higher binding affinity of flumoxazin than human and Rabbit PPOs, supporting the involvement of an MD mechanism in species differences in flumioxazer sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Different effects of an N-phenylimide herbicide on heme biosynthesis between human and rat erythroid cells.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the rat would be an inappropriate model for assessing the developmental toxicity of S-53482 in humans as rats are specifically sensitive to PPO inhibition by the herbicide.
