Evaluation of serum CEA and CA19-9 levels as prognostic factors in patients with gastric cancer.
Mitsugu Kochi,Masashi Fujii,Noriaki Kanamori,Teruo Kaiga,Tetsuya Kawakami,Kazuo Aizaki,Mitsuko Kasahara,Fumiro Mochizuki,Yuichi Kasakura,Motoo Yamagata +9 more
TL;DR: Serum CEA level is an independent prognostic factor in patients with primary gastric cancer and is a useful indicator of curability in patients who undergo gastrectomy.
Journal Article
Thymidylate synthase expression correlates closely with E2F1 expression in colon cancer.
Mitsuko Kasahara,Yasuo Takahashi,Toshihito Nagata,Satoshi Asai,Teruo Eguchi,Yukimoto Ishii,Masashi Fujii,Koichi Ishikawa +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between the expressions of the Thymidylate Synthase (TS) gene and E2F1 transcription factor in primary colon cancer specimens remains unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gastric cancer in young patients
TL;DR: Early diagnosis has improved the prognosis of young Gastric cancer patients and data show a recent shift in stage distribution; additional prognostic improvement is anticipated for young patients with early gastric cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is extended lymph node dissection necessary for gastric cancer in elderly patients
TL;DR: The presence of lymph node metastases is a critical factor in the prognosis of gastric cancer, and extended lymph node dissection has therefore been recommended, however, extended lymph nodes dissection in elderly patients did not influence the 5-year survival and the mortality and morbidity in the extended group were higher than in the limited group.
