Sand Particle Movement on Migrating Combined-Flow Ripples
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied sand particle movement on migrating combined-flow ripples in an experimental flume and found that the resultant combined flow ripples have characteristic rounded profiles, and that vortices, generated only close to the lee sides of ripples, are responsible for the rounded profile.
Journal ArticleDOI
Grain fabric of experimental gravity flow deposits
TL;DR: In this paper, a grain fabric of deposits accumulated from a high-density surge-type gravity (turbidity) current in an experimental flume was measured and the vertical sequential change (0.2mm interval) in imbrication showed that a bed can be divided into lower, middle, upper and uppermost parts.
Tidal Influence on Foreshore Deposits, Pacific Coast of Japan
Miwa Yokokawa,Fujio Masuda +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, reversals of grain imbrication dip were found that may result from predominance of uprush transport during flood stage and backwash transport during the ebb stage, which may have been controlled by tidally-influenced uprush-backwash processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Grain-size distributions of sediment carried by single transportation modes in an experimental microdelta system
TL;DR: In this article, the grain-size distributions of three sands in single transport-mode experiments after transport downstream from the brink of an experimental microdelta, are neither gaussian nor log-hyperbolic.
