Journal ArticleDOI

Dyeing of wool with aqueous extract of cotton pods improved by plasma treatment and chitosan: Optimization using response surface methodology

TL;DR: In this article, a new source of natural dye for coloration of wool fibers was introduced, which was used as a pre-treatment to improve the dyeability of the wool fibers and the color fastness to washing and light and the antibacterial properties of selected samples were evaluated and compared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modification of wool protein fiber with plasma and dendrimer: Effects on dyeing with cochineal.

TL;DR: The results showed that the kinetics of absorption of cochineal on raw, plasma-treated and dendrimer-treated fibers was best fitted with the pseudo-second-order model and the isotherms of the dyeing processes followed the Freundlich model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of β-cyclodextrin grafting on wool fibers improved by plasma treatment and assessment of antibacterial activity of berberine finished fabric

TL;DR: In this paper, a low temperature oxygen plasma was used to improve the absorption of β-cyclodextrin on wool fibers and the effect of weight gain on the color strength of samples dyed with berberine natural colorant was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial Properties of Acrylic Fabrics Dyed with Direct Dye and a Copper Salt

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of various factors which may affect the antimicrobial property of the treated fabric, such as copper sulfate concentration and temperature in pre- and post-mordanting procedures, were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of plasma treatment and grafting of β-cyclodextrin on color properties of wool fabric dyed with Shrimp shell extract

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of low temperature plasma (LTP) treatment and grafting of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) on dyeing and fastness properties of wool fabrics using natural dye extracted from shrimp shell was evaluated.
