Purpose – The purpose of this research is to incorporate the exponentiated Weibull testing‐effort functions into software reliability modeling and to estimate the optimal software release time.Design/methodology/approach – This paper suggests a software reliability growth model based on the non‐homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) which incorporates the exponentiated Weibull (EW) testing‐efforts.Findings – Experimental results on actual data from three software projects are compared with other existing models which reveal that the proposed software reliability growth model with EW testing‐effort is wider and effective SRGM.Research limitations/implications – This paper presents a SRGM using a constant error detection rate per unit testing‐effort.Practical implications – Software reliability growth model is one of the fundamental techniques to assess software reliability quantitatively. The exponentiated Weibull software reliability growth model with various testing‐efforts and optimal release policy: A performance analysis

In this paper a new protocol using fuzzy logic control has been proposed. The protocol is based on Stable Election Protocol (SEP). Fuzzy logic control based on three variables, distance of nodes form base station, density of nodes and the battery level of nodes along with the traditional threshold values used in SEP are used to enhance the process of cluster head election in the existing SEP protocol and improve the lifetime and throughput of the Wireless Sensor Network. The result of the simulation which has been done in MATLAB simulator indicates that Stable Election Protocol based on fuzzy logic is more energy efficient and improves the lifetime and throughput of the network by 73.2 and 68.54 % respectively comparing with the existing SEP protocol.

A Review on Symmetric Key Encryption Techniques in Cryptography

It is quite natural to produce reliable software systems efficiently since the breakdown of the computer systems, which is caused by software errors, results in a tremendous loss and damage for social life. We present Software Reliability Growth Model (SRGM) based on nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP), which incorporates the amount of testing effort consumptions during software testing phase. The time dependent behavior of testing effort consumptions is described by Log-Logistic curve. [1] has used this model into SRGM for finite failure NHPP. In this paper, we will show that a Log-Logistic Test-Effort Function (TEF) can be expressed as a Software Development/test-effort curve. It is assume that the error detection rate to the amount of testing-effort spent during the testing phase is proportional to the current error content. The SRGM parameters are estimated by least square estimation (LSE) and Maximum likelihood Estimation (MLE) methods. The method of data analysis for software reliability measurements are presented for three real data set and results are compared with other existing models to show that the proposed model is good enough to give more accurate description of resources consumption give better fit. This model can be applied to a wide range of software system. In addition, the optimal release policy based on reliability and cost criteria for software system are proposed.

Analysis of a software reliability growth models: the case of log-logistic test-effort function

Software requirements are the foundations from which quality is measured. Measurement enables to improve the software process; assist in planning, tracking and controlling the software project and assess the quality of the software thus produced. Quality issues such as accuracy, security and performance are often crucial to the success of a software system. Quality should be maintained from starting phase of software development. Requirements management, play an important role in maintaining quality of software. A project can deliver the right solution on time and within budget with proper requirements management. Software quality can be maintained by checking quality attributes in requirements document. Requirements metrics such as volatility, traceability, size and completeness are used to measure requirements engineering phase of software development lifecycle. Manual measurement is expensive, time consuming and prone to error therefore automated tools should be used. Automated requirements tools are helpful in measuring requirements metrics.
