Journal ArticleDOI

Ensemble habitat mapping of invasive plant species.

TL;DR: For the four invasive plant species tested, ensemble models were the only models that ranked in the top three models for both field validation and test data, suggesting that ensemble models may be more robust than individual species-environment matching models for risk analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Climate change impacts on fire regimes and key ecosystem services in Rocky Mountain forests

TL;DR: In this article, the authors characterize the likely short and longer-term effects of projected climate changes on fuel dynamics and fire regimes for four generalized forest types in the central Rocky Mountain region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Forest developmental trajectories in mountain pine beetle disturbed forests of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

TL;DR: A mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopkins) epidemic has caused widespread mortality of lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud. var. latifolia Engelm.) trees across western Nort...
Journal ArticleDOI

Temporal context affects the observed rate of climate‐driven range shifts in tree species

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a conceptual framework for understanding how migration timing affects the observed rate of change in global forest ecosystems, and synthesize evidence from present-day tree species migrations to determine how different migration constraints can delay tree species range shifts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface fuel loadings within mulching treatments in Colorado coniferous forests

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined how mulch treatments alter the distribution of woody material by size class by comparing paired mulched and untreated sites in lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta), mixed conifer, ponderosa pine, and pinyon pine/juniper (pinus edulis/Juniperus sp.) forests 2-6 years after mechanical treatment.
