Metabolic effects of troglitazone on fructose-induced insulin resistance in the rat.
TL;DR: It is suggested that troglitazone treatment could completely prevent the insulin resistance, hypertension, and hypertriglyceridemia induced by a diet high in fructose and that the drug might prove useful in the treatment and/or prevention of nonhyperglycemic insulin-resistant states as well as in thetreatment of established NIDDM.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: US characteristics of solid echostructure, irregular margin, and calcification showed meaningful diagnostic value in detecting malignancy in thyroid incidentalomas; however, US findings can be used in the decision of optimal management strategies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Routine measurement of serum calcitonin is useful for early detection of medullary thyroid carcinoma in patients with nodular thyroid diseases.
Jong Ryeal Hahm,Myung-Shik Lee,Yong Ki Min,Moon-Kyu Lee,Kwang-Won Kim,Seok Jin Nam,Jung-Hyun Yang,Jae Hoon Chung +7 more
TL;DR: Routine measurement of serum calcitonin concentration is suggested to be useful in the early detection of MTC among patients with nodular thyroid diseases and pentagastrin stimulation test was not sensitive in detecting MTC.
Journal ArticleDOI
