Journal ArticleDOI
Genotyping of Human Papillomaviruses by a Novel One-Step Typing Method with Multiplex PCR and Clinical Applications
Morie Nishiwaki,Tomohiro Yamamoto,Somako Tone,Taichi Murai,Tatsuya Ohkawara,Takakuni Matsunami,Motoiki Koizumi,Yoshitake Takagi,Jun Yamaguchi,Nobuo Kondo,Jun Nishihira,Takeharu Horikawa,Takashi Yoshiki +12 more
TL;DR: The novel multiplex PCR method described appears to be highly suitable not only for the screening of cervical cancer precursor lesions but also for the characterization of genotype distributions in large-scale epidemiological studies and HPV vaccination trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective effects of heat shock protein 70 induced by geranylgeranylacetone on oxidative injury in rat intestinal epithelial cells.
TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that GGA plays an important role in defense mechanisms against oxidative injury in the intestine, primarily via induction of HSP70.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of Toll-like receptor 4 expression in mouse colon by macrophage migration inhibitory factor
Tatsuya Ohkawara,Hiroshi Takeda,Kencho Miyashita,Morie Nishiwaki,Toshinori Nakayama,Masaru Taniguchi,Takashi Yoshiki,Junji Tanaka,Masahiro Imamura,Toshiro Sugiyama,Masahiro Asaka,Jun Nishihira +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that MIF affects the expression of TLR4 in mouse colon under both normal and colitic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
A case of congenital toxoplasmosis whose mother demonstrated serum low IgG avidity and positive tests for multiplex-nested PCR in the amniotic fluid.
Akira Nishikawa,Hideto Yamada,Tomohiro Yamamoto,Yuka Mizue,Yushi Akashi,Takumi Hayashi,Takehito Nihei,Morie Nishiwaki,Jun Nishihira +8 more
TL;DR: Serum titers of Toxoplasma gondii antibodies were all less than cut‐off values between 5 and 12 months after birth, but all increased up to positive levels 18’months after birth.

Primer set for detecting human papilloma virus
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method for detecting human papilloma virus (HPV) genes with high sensitivity using six or more primer sets comprising specific sequence, and a method specifically detecting HPV in a sample comprises performing, by using the kit, polymerase chain reaction using cDNA as a template, which cDNA is prepared by reverse transcription from DNA or mRNA obtained from the sample.
