Bone tumors, such as osteosarcomas, can occur anywhere in the bones, though they usually occur in the extremities of long bones near metaphyseal growth plates. Osteosarcoma is a malignant lesion caused by a malignant osteoid growing from primitive mesenchymal cells. In most cases, osteosarcoma develops as a solitary lesion within the most rapidly growing areas of the long bones in children. The distal femur, proximal tibia, and proximal humerus are the most frequently affected bones, but virtually any bone can be affected. Early detection can reduce mortality rates. Osteosarcoma’s manual detection requires expertise, and it can be tedious. With the assistance of modern technology, medical images can now be analyzed and classified automatically, which enables faster and more efficient data processing. A deep learning-based automatic detection system based on whole slide images (WSIs) is presented in this paper to detect osteosarcoma automatically. Experiments conducted on a large dataset of WSIs yielded up to 99.3% accuracy. This model ensures the privacy and integrity of patient information with the implementation of blockchain technology. Utilizing edge computing and fog computing technologies, the model reduces the load on centralized servers and improves efficiency.

IoMT-Based Osteosarcoma Cancer Detection in Histopathology Images Using Transfer Learning Empowered with Blockchain, Fog Computing, and Edge Computing

Epilepsy is the second most common neurological disease after Alzheimer. It is a disorder of the brain which results in recurrent seizures. Though the epilepsy in general is considered as a serious disorder, its effects in children are rather dangerous. It is mainly because it reasons a slower rate of development and a failure to improve certain skills among such children. Seizures are the most common symptom of epilepsy. As a regular medical procedure, the specialists record brain activity using an electroencephalogram (EEG) to observe epileptic seizures. The detection of these seizures is performed by specialists, but the results might not be accurate and depend on the specialist’s experience; therefore, automated detection of epileptic pediatric seizures might be an optimal solution. In this regard, several techniques have been investigated in the literature. This research aims to review the approaches to pediatric epilepsy seizures’ identification especially those based on machine learning, in addition to the techniques applied on the CHB-MIT scalp EEG database of epileptic pediatric signals.

A Review on Machine Learning Approaches in Identification of Pediatric Epilepsy

A genetic disorder is a serious disease that affects a large number of individuals around the world. There are various types of genetic illnesses, however, we focus on mitochondrial and multifactorial genetic disorders for prediction. Genetic illness is caused by a number of factors, including a defective maternal or paternal gene, excessive abortions, a lack of blood cells, and low white blood cell count. For premature or teenage life development, early detection of genetic diseases is crucial. Although it is difficult to forecast genetic disorders ahead of time, this prediction is very critical since a person's life progress depends on it. Machine learning algorithms are used to diagnose genetic disorders with high accuracy utilizing datasets collected and constructed from a large number of patient medical reports. A lot of studies have been conducted recently employing genome sequencing for illness detection, but fewer studies have been presented using patient medical history. The accuracy of existing studies that use a patient's history is restricted. The internet of medical things (IoMT) based proposed model for genetic disease prediction in this article uses two separate machine learning algorithms: support vector machine (SVM) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). Experimental results show that SVM has outperformed the KNN and existing prediction methods in terms of accuracy. SVM achieved an accuracy of 94.99% and 86.6% for training and testing, respectively.

The study presents a framework to analyze and detect meddling in real-time network data and identify numerous meddling patterns that may be harmful to various communication means, academic institutes, and other industries. The major challenge was to develop a non-faulty framework to detect meddling (to overcome the traditional ways). With the development of machine learning technology, detecting and stopping the meddling process in the early stages is much easier. In this study, the proposed framework uses numerous data collection and processing techniques and machine learning techniques to train the meddling data and detect anomalies. The proposed framework uses support vector machine (SVM) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) machine learning algorithms to detect the meddling in a network entangled with blockchain technology to ensure the privacy and protection of models as well as communication data. SVM achieves the highest training detection accuracy (DA) and misclassification rate (MCR) of 99.59% and 0.41%, respectively, and SVM achieves the highest-testing DA and MCR of 99.05% and 0.95%, respectively. The presented framework portrays the best meddling detection results, which are very helpful for various communication and transaction processes.

Network Meddling Detection Using Machine Learning Empowered with Blockchain Technology

Fatal diseases like cancer, dementia, and diabetes are very dangerous. This leads to fear of death if these are not diagnosed at early stages. Computer science uses biomedical studies to diagnose cancer, dementia, and diabetes. With the advancement of machine learning, there are various techniques which are accessible to predict and prognosis these diseases based on different datasets. These datasets varied (image datasets and CSV datasets) around the world. So, there is a need for some machine learning classifiers to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes in a human. In this paper, we used a multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder dataset to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes. Several studies used different machine learning classifiers to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes separately with the help of different types of datasets. So, in this paper, multiclass classification proposed methodology used support vector machine (SVM) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) machine learning techniques to predict three diseases and compared these techniques based on accuracy. Simulation results have shown that the proposed model of SVM and KNN for prediction of dementia, cancer, and diabetes from multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder achieved 92.8% and 92.5%, 92.8% and 91.2% accuracy during training and testing, respectively. So, it is observed that proposed SVM-based dementia, cancer, and diabetes from multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder prediction (MGIDP) give attractive results as compared with the proposed model of KNN. The application of the proposed model helps to prognosis and prediction of cancer, dementia, and diabetes before time and plays a vital role to minimize the death ratio around the world.

Supervised Machine Learning Empowered Multifactorial Genetic Inheritance Disorder Prediction

One of the most difficult jobs in the post-genomic age is identifying a genetic disease from a massive amount of genetic data. Furthermore, the complicated genetic disease has a very diverse genotype, making it challenging to find genetic markers. This is a challenging process since it must be completed effectively and efficiently. This research article focuses largely on which patients are more likely to have a genetic disorder based on numerous medical parameters. Using the patient’s medical history, we used a genetic disease prediction algorithm that predicts if the patient is likely to be diagnosed with a genetic disorder. To predict and categorize the patient with a genetic disease, we utilize several deep and machine learning techniques such as Artificial neural network (ANN), K-nearest neighbors (KNN), and Support vector machine (SVM). To enhance the accuracy of predicting the genetic disease in any patient, a highly efficient approach was utilized to control how the model can be used. To predict genetic disease, deep and machine learning approaches are performed. The most productive tool model provides more precise efficiency. The simulation results demonstrate that by using the proposed model with the ANN, we achieve the highest model performance of 85.7%, 84.9%, 84.3% accuracy of training, testing and validation respectively. This approach will undoubtedly transform genetic disorder prediction and give a real competitive strategy to save patients’ lives.
