Millimeter Wave Channel Modeling and Cellular Capacity Evaluation
Mustafa Riza Akdeniz,Yuanpeng Liu,Mathew K. Samimi,Shu Sun,Sundeep Rangan,Theodore S. Rappaport,Elza Erkip +6 more
TL;DR: Detailed spatial statistical models of the channels are derived and it is found that, even in highly non-line-of-sight environments, strong signals can be detected 100-200 m from potential cell sites, potentially with multiple clusters to support spatial multiplexing.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the Temporal Effects of Mobile Blockers in Urban Millimeter-Wave Cellular Scenarios
Margarita Gapeyenko,Andrey Samuylov,Mikhail Gerasimenko,Dmitri Moltchanov,Sarabjot Singh,Mustafa Riza Akdeniz,Ehsan Aryafar,Nageen Himayat,Sergey Andreev,Yevgeni Koucheryavy +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new model for predicting the state of a user in the presence of mobile blockers for representative 3GPP scenarios is developed: Urban micro cell street canyon and park/stadium/square.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
5G MmWave Module for the ns-3 Network Simulator
TL;DR: The main focus of this work is the modeling of customizable channel, physical and medium access control layers for mmWave systems, based on the network simulator ns-3, which aims at providing the first of a kind open source mmWave framework.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coded Computing for Low-Latency Federated Learning Over Wireless Edge Networks
Saurav Prakash,Sagar Dhakal,Mustafa Riza Akdeniz,Yair Yona,Shilpa Talwar,A. Salman Avestimehr,Nageen Himayat +6 more
TL;DR: This work proposes a novel coded computing framework, CodedFedL, that injects structured coding redundancy into federated learning for mitigating stragglers and speeding up the training procedure.
