Systems and methods are provided for the organization, management, and graphical display of multiple logically related entities. In some embodiments, the systems and methods provide the real-time display of status and location information for a fleet of tracked vehicles. In some embodiments, the systems and methods permit the automatic clustering of assets based on a user's view of an underlying map. In some embodiments, the assets are vehicles that are a part of a managed fleet. In some embodiments, the assets are logically arranged into clusters of like assets. In some embodiments, the clusters provide graphical indications of status or class information of their underlying assets.

Real time map rendering with data clustering and expansion and overlay

A vehicle management system can generate a vehicle management user interface that depicts vehicle history information in timelines or graphical timelines. These history timelines can include information regarding vehicle location, speed, and idling, among other useful information. The graphical nature of the history timelines can quickly convey vehicle tracking details and potential problems, such as idling and congregation, to an administrator. Further, history timelines for multiple vehicles can be displayed in parallel, allowing comparison between histories for different vehicles.

Mobile business is becoming a reality due to ubiquitous Internet connectivity, popular mobile devices, and widely available cloud services. However, characteristics of the mobile environment, such as mobility, unpredictability, and variation of mobile network's signal strength, present challenges in selecting optimal services for composition. Traditional QoS-aware methods that select individual services with the best QoS may not always result in the best composite service because constant mobility makes the performance of service invocation unpredictable and location-based. This paper discusses the challenges of this problem and defines it in a formal way. To solve this new research problem, we propose a mobility model, a mobility-aware QoS computation rule, and a mobility-enabled selection algorithm with teaching-learning-based optimization. The experimental simulation results demonstrate that our approach can obtain better solutions than current standard composition methods in mobile environments. The approach can obtain near-optimal solutions and has a nearly linear algorithmic complexity with respect to the problem size.

Mobility-Enabled Service Selection for Composite Services

Evolution of IoT-enabled connectivity and applications in automotive industry: A review

This paper presents a real time tracking system that provides accurate localizations of the tracked vehicle with low cost. The system is implemented using GM862 cellular quad band module. A monitoring server and a graphical user interface on a website have also been implemented using Microsoft SQL Server 2003 and ASP.net to view the current location of a vehicle on a specific map. The system provides information regarding the vehicle status such as speed, mileage. The prototype has been tested experimentally and the results are analyzed and discussed. The experiments are conducted in different areas on Kingdom Of Bahrain using Google maps.

A Cost Effective Real-Time Tracking System Prototype Using Integrated GPS/GPRS Module

Due to the high cost of fossil-based energy, several methods are proposed to reduce the usage of the energy in logistics and fleet management to be even more. GPS tracking system is a common approach to get vehicle location information in real-time for fleet planning. We proposed a GPS tracking system called Goo-Tracking that is composed of commodity hardware, open source software and an easy-to-manage user interface via a Web server with Google Map or via Google Earth software. The system includes a GPS/GPRS module to location acquisition and message transmission, MMC to temporary store location information, and an 8-bit AVR microcontroller. Our system prototype is shown and tested on a trip from Bangkok to Chonburi. It has shown great stability and also robust message transfer protocol that most of locations are accurately acquired and transmitted to the server in real-time.
