A spectral atlas of post-main-sequence stars in omega Centauri: kinematics, evolution, enrichment and interstellar medium
Jacco Th. van Loon,Floor van Leeuwen,Barry Smalley,Andrew W. Smith,N. Lyons,Iain McDonald,Martha L. Boyer +6 more
TL;DR: A spectral atlas of the post-main-sequence population of the most massive Galactic globular cluster, omega Centauri, was presented by van Leeuwen et al. as discussed by the authors, who measured the radial velocities, effective temperatures, metallicities and surface gravities by fitting ATLAS9 stellar atmosphere models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Different progenitors of short hard gamma-ray bursts
Eleonora Troja,Eleonora Troja,Eleonora Troja,Andrew J. King,P. T. O'Brien,N. Lyons,G. Cusumano +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial offsets of short hard gamma-ray bursts (SHBs) from their host galaxies were investigated and it was shown that all SHBs with extended duration soft emission components lie very close to their hosts.
Journal ArticleDOI
The unusual X-ray emission of the short Swift GRB 090515: Evidence for the formation of a magnetar?
Antonia Rowlinson,P. T. O'Brien,Nial R. Tanvir,Bing Zhang,Phil Evans,N. Lyons,Andrew J. Levan,Richard Willingale,K. L. Page,O. Onal,David N. Burrows,A. P. Beardmore,T. N. Ukwatta,T. N. Ukwatta,Edo Berger,Jens Hjorth,A. S. Fruchter,R. L. Tunnicliffe,Derek B. Fox,Antonino Cucchiara +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the Swift observations of GRB 090515 and compare it to other gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in the Swift sample, and suggest it might be energy injection from an unstable millisecond pulsar contributing to their emission.
