Novosphingobium pokkalii sp nov, a novel rhizosphere-associated bacterium with plant beneficial properties isolated from saline-tolerant pokkali rice
Ramya Krishnan,Rahul R Menon,Likhitha,Hans-Jürgen Busse,Naoto Tanaka,Srinivasan Krishnamurthi,N. Rameshkumar,N. Rameshkumar +7 more
TL;DR: DNA-DNA hybridization analysis and phenotypic traits established that this strain belongs to a novel Novosphingobium species, for which the name Novosphedobium pokkalii sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sphingomonas pokkalii sp. nov., a novel plant associated rhizobacterium isolated from a saline tolerant pokkali rice and its draft genome analysis
Rahul R Menon,Sunitha Kumari,Sunitha Kumari,Pravin Kumar,Ashish Verma,Srinivasan Krishnamurthi,N. Rameshkumar,N. Rameshkumar +7 more
TL;DR: This study provides first insights into the plant associated lifestyle, genome and taxonomy of a novel brackish adapted plant associated Sphingomonas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Description of Vogesella oryzae sp. nov., isolated from the rhizosphere of saline tolerant pokkali rice.
TL;DR: Three strains, namely L3B39(T), L3D16, and L1E9, were obtained while studying the cultivable rhizosphere bacteria of saline tolerant pokkali rice, at Kerala, India, and placed in the genus Vogesella, forming a separate branch independent of the previously described type strains of this genus in all tree making algorithms applied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flavobacterium pokkalii sp. nov., a novel plant growth promoting native rhizobacteria isolated from pokkali rice grown in coastal saline affected agricultural regions of southern India, Kerala
TL;DR: A novel Flavobacteria species is described for which the name Flavobacterium pokkalii sp.nov.
Journal ArticleDOI
Taxonomic insights into the phylogeny of Bacillus badius and proposal for its reclassification to the genus Pseudobacillus as Pseudobacillus badius comb. nov. and reclassification of Bacillus wudalianchiensis Liu et al., 2017 as Pseudobacillus wudalianchiensis comb. nov.
Ashish Verma,Yash Pal,Anup Kumar Ojha,Munesh Kumari,Indu Khatri,N. Rameshkumar,Peter Schumann,Syed G. Dastager,Shanmugam Mayilraj,Srikrishna Subramanian,Srinivasan Krishnamurthi +10 more
TL;DR: Four B. badius strains displayed sufficient demarcating phenotypic characteristics that warrant their classification as members of a novel genus and single species, for which the name Pseudobacillus badius gen. nov. comb.
