Journal ArticleDOI

Screening of plant species for phytoremediation of uranium, thorium, barium, nickel, strontium and lead contaminated soils from a uranium mill tailings repository in South China.

TL;DR: The results show that the PF has advantage over the hyperaccumulator in reflecting the removal capabilities of a plant for a target element, and is more adequate for assessing the potential of a plants to be used in phytoremediation than conventional method.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Amidoxime-Based Material TMP-g-AO for Uranium Adsorption under Seawater Conditions

TL;DR: A novel amidoxime-based adsorbent of titanium-molybdopyrophosphate-g-amidoxime was prepared by chemical coprecipitation and subsequent chemical modifications as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption and recovery of U(VI) from low concentration uranium solution by amidoxime modified Aspergillus niger

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the initial pH, contact time, initial U(VI) concentration and biosorbent dose on the adsorption of UVI ions from radioactive wastewater in less than 1 mg L−1 by AMAN and the raw Aspergillus niger (RAN) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of repeated applications of chelates on phytoremediation of uranium contaminated soil by Macleaya cordata.

TL;DR: The results indicated that the phytoavailability of uranium in soil solution as well as the accumulation of U by M. cordata were both significantly increased after repeated applied of CA, and that the repeated applications of 10 mmol kg-1 CA increased the activities of the antioxidant enzymes and promoted U accumulation by M., cordata.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vegetation composition and 226Ra uptake by native plant species at a uranium mill tailings impoundment in South China

TL;DR: A field investigation was conducted for the vegetation composition and (226)Ra uptake by native plant species at a uranium mill tailings impoundment in South China, finding a simple unstable vegetation community that was similar to that on the unused grassland.
