TL;DR: In this article , two new one-dimensional palladium halides, [C9H16N2]PdCl4 (1) and [C 9H 16N2]-PdBr4 (2) showing electrical and optical properties were prepared by reaction of 2,4,6-trimethyl-m-phenyl-enediamine with PdX2 (X ​= ​Cl, Br) in the corresponding concentrated halogen acids HX.
