Rapid, sensitive, and specific thiobarbituric acid method for measuring lipid peroxidation in animal tissue, food, and feedstuff samples

TL;DR: In this article, a rapid aqueous acid extraction thiobarbituric acid method for measuring malondialdehyde as a marker of lipid peroxidation in animal tissue, food, and feedstuff samples has been developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary thyme on the oxidative stability of egg yolk

TL;DR: A comparative examination of the antioxidant activity of various synthetic and natural antioxidants added to yolk suggested that thymol, the main antioxidant constituent of thyme, cannot be considered totally responsible for the oxidativ...
Journal ArticleDOI

Yolk Fatty Acid Composition and Cholesterol Content in Response to Level and Form of Dietary Flaxseed

TL;DR: The effect of the level and form of dietary flaxseed on the fatty acid composition and cholesterol content of hen egg has been investigated in this paper, which showed that flax seeds significantly altered yolk fatty acid compositions by increasing total polyunsaturated fatty acid while decreasing monounsaturated fatty acids α-Linolenic acid was linearly increased in response to levels of ground flax seed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trace analysis of oxytetracycline and tetracycline in milk by high-performance liquid chromatography.

TL;DR: A high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for the determination of oxytetracycline (OTC) and tetracycine (TC) residues in milk at levels as low as 10 ppb has been developed as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid gas chromatographic method for simultaneous determination of cholesterol and alpha-tocopherol in eggs.

TL;DR: In this article, a new method was developed for simultaneous determination of cholesterol and alpha-tocopherol in eggs, which involves rapid and simple sample preparation accomplished in one tube and chromatographic separation that does not require derivatization of analytes.
