A one-million-year-old Homo cranium from the Danakil (Afar) Depression of Eritrea

TL;DR: The cranium was found in a succession of fluvio-deltaic and lacustrine deposits and is associated with a rich mammalian fauna of early to early-middle Pleistocene age, which means the human remains can be dated at ∼1 million years before present.
Journal ArticleDOI

The amphipod Talitrus saltator as a bioindicator of human trampling on sandy beaches

TL;DR: The results showed a strong negative correlation between the number of swimmers and the sandhopper population density, while there was no clear relationship between sandhoipper abundance and the other factors considered: granulometry, compactness and organic carbon content of the sand, and trace metal contents in the sand and sandhoppers.
Journal ArticleDOI
