Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and physicochemical analysis of gelatin-based hydrogels for drug carrier matrices.

TL;DR: In vivo studies showed that gelatin-based hydrogels elicited comparable levels of acute and chronic inflammatory response as that of the empty cage control by 21 d, and modification of gelatin with PEG-dial and EDTAD had no effect on T(max), R(fail), or T(fail).
Journal ArticleDOI

In vivo biocompatibility of gelatin-based hydrogels and interpenetrating networks.

TL;DR: Most of the crosslinked gelatin-based materials, either via glutaraldehyde fixation or interpenetrating network formation, elicited stronger inflammatory responses than either of the starting materials, gelatin and polyethyleneglycol diacrylate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Engineering endogenous inflammatory cells as delivery vehicles.

TL;DR: In vivo results showed that peptide identity played a minimal role in modulating the host inflammatory response and adherent macrophage density, and represent a mechanistic correlation between the role of protein functional architectures in ligand-receptor recognition and the post-ligation signaling events that control cellular behavior in vitro and in vivo.
