Essential oils from dalmatian sage (Salvia officinalis l.): variations among individuals, plant parts, seasons, and sites.
Nigel B. Perry,Rosemary E. Anderson,Nerida J. Brennan,M. H. Douglas,Anna J. Heaney,Jennifer A. McGimpsey,Bruce M. Smallfield +6 more
TL;DR: This study has found that autumn or winter was the best harvest time to obtain oils with high thujone levels, and major seasonal changes were found in the composition of oil distilled from a flowering type of Dalmatian sage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extraction of phenolics and essential oil from dried sage (Salvia officinalis) using ethanol–water mixtures
Nicola Emma Durling,Owen J. Catchpole,John Bertram Grey,Rosemary F. Webby,Kevin A. Mitchell,L. Yeap Foo,Nigel B. Perry +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of particle size, temperature, contact time, solvent-to-sage ratio and the ethanol-water ratio on the extraction of the active compounds rosmarinic acid, carnosic compounds and essential oil from dried sage (Salvia officinalis) were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mycalamide A, an antiviral compound from a New Zealand sponge of the genus Mycale
Journal ArticleDOI
Discorhabdin C, a highly cytotoxic pigment from a sponge of the genus Latrunculia
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytotoxic pigments from new zealand sponges of the genus latrunculia : discorhabdins a, b and c
TL;DR: In this paper, the 1 H- and 13 C-NMR spectra of the previously reported discorhabdin C 1 have been assigned, and the structures of Discorhabdins A 2 and B 3 have been established by spectral comparisons (especially NMR)'with 1.03-0.1 μg/ml.
