Numerical study on flow separation in 90° pipe bend under high Reynolds number by k-ε modelling

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors make an effort to find the flow separation characteristics under high Reynolds number in pipe bends using k-e turbulence model and provide numerical results to understand the flow characteristics of fluid flow in 90° bend pipe.
Journal Article

Effect of Reynolds Number and Curvature Ratio on Single Phase Turbulent Flow in Pipe Bends

TL;DR: In this article, turbulent single phase flows through circular 90 ǫ curved bend for different curvature ratio (Rc/D = 1 to 5), defined as the bend mean curvature radius to pipe diameter (D) is investigated numerically for different Reynolds number (Re) ranging from 1×105 to 10×105.

Study on pressure drop characteristics of single phase turbulent flow in pipe bend for high reynolds number

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed study has been performed to investigate the pressure distribution and pressure drop characteristics over a wide range of Reynolds number (Re = 1×10 5 to 10 × 10 5 ) and for different curvature ratio (RC/D = 1 to 5) to study pressure loss coefficient in terms of Reynolds numbers and curvature ration to provide cost effective solutions to design of pipe bends.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical Study on Turbulent Separation Reattachment Flow in Pipe Bends with Different Small Curvature Ratio

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical simulation of the turbulent separation reattachment flow under high Reynolds number in different curvature ratios has been performed in a 90-degree bend pipe and the separation region and separation-reattachment points are reported.

Change in flow separation and velocity distribution due to effect of guide vane installed in a 90° pipe bend

TL;DR: In this article, the authors make an effort to study the flow separation and velocity distribution for incompressible turbulent flow through 90o pipe bend due to the effect of guide vane installed in the bend portion.
