Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial decolouration of azo dyes: a review.

TL;DR: This review summarises the methodologies used to evaluate the toxicity of azo dyes and their degradation products and discusses the recent studies on the decolouration or degradation using algae, yeast, filamentous fungi and bacteria, genetically modified microorganisms and microbiological systems combined with Advanced Oxidation Processes and Microbial Fuel Cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of guanabana (Annona muricata) seed meal as a source of (S)-oxynitrilase

TL;DR: Guanabana seed meal is a source of (S)-oxynitrilase which biocatalyzes the enantioselective addition of HCN to aromatic, heteroaromatic and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes to produce cyanohydrins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on the (R)-oxynitrilase activity of Pouteria sapota

TL;DR: Mamey (Pouteria sapota) defatted meal was used to catalyze the enantioselective addition of HCN to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and the (R)-cyanohydrins obtained showed good conversion and enantiomeric excess.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anxiolytic-Like and Antinociceptive Effects of 2(S)-Neoponcirin in Mice

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that 2(S)-neopincirin possesses anxiolytic-like and antinociceptive effects in mice that are not associated with changes in the locomotor activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment and determination of LC50 of carvacrol and salicylic acid analogues with acaricide activity in larvae and adult ticks of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus.

TL;DR: The analogues carvacrol and salicylic acid were evaluated in larvae of R. (B.) microplus with data obtained in larval packet test (LPT) and larval immersiontest (LIT) and found to be the best candidates for a study in vivo.
