Journal ArticleDOI

Heat-set gel-like networks of lipophilic Co(II) triazole complexes in organic media and their thermochromic structural transitions.

TL;DR: The observed unique thermochromic transition (pink solution --> blue gel-like phase) is accompanied by an exothermic peak in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and is shown to be an enthalpy-driven process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rheology and dynamic light scattering of silk fibroin solution extracted from the middle division of Bombyx mori silkworm.

TL;DR: Angular frequency omega dependencies of the storage and the loss shear moduli, G'(omega) and G' '(omega), measured in the linear viscoelastic region, indicate that all solutions possess the pseudoplateau modulus in the low omega region and samples become highly viscoleastic for C greater, similar 4.2 wt %.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diffusion and sedimentation studies on poly(macromonomer) in dilute solution

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffusion coefficient and sedimentation coefficient of dilute benzene solutions of poly(macromonomer) with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as the backbone chain and polystyrene (PS) as branches, respectively, were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sol-Gel transition behavior of pure iota-carrageenan in both salt-free and added salt states.

TL;DR: The data analysis of C dependence of the plateau modulus is concluded using the theory developed by Jones and Marques for rigid networks based on the fractal theories that addition of metallic ions gives rise to a rigid fiber like structure even at low C of iota-carrageenan in contrast to the salt-free system for which a flexible structure has been maintained at higher C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic Light Scattering and Dynamic Viscoelasticity of Poly(vinyl alcohol) in Aqueous Borax Solutions. 5. Temperature Effects

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of temperature, T, on association behaviors of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with weight-average degree of polymerization DPw = 350 in aqueous Borax solution.
