Journal ArticleDOI
An Evaluation of UV Protection Property of Silk Fabric Dyed with Mangrove Bark (Rhizophora apiculata Blume) Extract
Rattanaphol Mongkholrattanasit,Charoon Klaichoi,Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai,Nuttanan Sasivatchutikool +3 more
TL;DR: In this article, natural dye extracted from the mangrove bark was applied to a silk fabric by an exhaustion dyeing process, and the dyeing was conducted with and without metallic salt mordants using pre-mordanting.
Journal ArticleDOI
UV Protection Property of Colorant from Lac for Silk Fabric Dyeing by Cold Pad-Batch: The Influence of Metal Mordants Concentration
Rattanaphol Mongkholrattanasit,Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai,Nitaya Tubtimthai,Nuttanan Sasivatchutikool +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, natural dye from lac dye and various metallic salts have been used to identify the proper dyeing condition for attaining high quality natural dyeing along with imparting UV protection property to the dyed silk fabric.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Dye Concentration on UV Protection Property of Silk Fabric Dyed with Purple Corn Cob Using Pre-Mordanting Method
Rattanaphol Mongkholrattanasit,Charoon Klaichoi,Junyar Sarnium,Pichitphol Jareonsapyanant,Nuttanan Sasivatchutikool,Jitti Pattavanitch,Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a natural dye extracted from purple corn cob was applied to a silk fabric using pre-mordanting method, under different conditions, and it was observed that with an increase in the dye concentration, the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) values ranged between good and very good for the silk fabric.
Journal ArticleDOI
Natural Dye from Garcinia dulcis (Roxb.) Kurz Bark and Application on Silk Fabric by Using Pad-Batch Dyeing: A Study on Mordant Concentrations Efficiency
Rattanaphol Mongkholrattanasit,Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai,Nitaya Tubtimthai,Nuttanan Sasivatchutikool,Nattaya Punrattanasin +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of dyes at different mordant concentration levels on their colour strength was investigated, and the fastness properties showed fair to good rating, whereas the colour fastness to perspiration was at a poor level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Ferrous Sulfate to Improve UV-Protection Property of Cotton Fabric Dyed with Natural Indigo
Rattanaphol Mongkholrattanasit,Charoon Klaichoi,Orawan Mudchiew,Nattaya Punrattanasin,Nuttanan Sasivatchutikool,Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a cotton fabric has been dyed with natural indigo (Indigofera tentoria) in absence and present ferrous sulfate mordant by using post-mordanting and pad-batch processes.
