The connecting assembly comprises a tubular shaft and a connecting piece positioned coaxially relative to an end of the tubular shaft. The shaft and the connecting piece have connecting member which inter-fit with one another in the circumferential direction to enable drive transmission. The tubular shaft is designed to sustain without damage greater impacting force in the longitudinal direction than is required to displace the connecting piece relative to the shaft in the direction. The inter-fitting connecting member is provided by an outer surface of the connecting piece which is polygonal or is provided with longitudinal teeth and by a complementary surface of a connecting member which is secured to an end portion of the tubular shaft.

The invention discloses a novel long shaft coupler which is connected with a through wall in an NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) test bed design. The novel long shaft coupler can transmit large torque at a long distance and is wide in speed regulation range; the novel long shaft coupler is formed by assembling a shaft coupler receiving disk 1 (which is as shown in a figure), cone pins 2 (which are as shown in the figure) and a shaft coupler steel pipe 3 (which is as shown in the figure); certain taper is formed between the shaft coupler receiving disk and the steel pipe, so that assembling and positioning can be guaranteed and facilitated; by radial cone pin connection and by the arrangement of a bolt group (4, 5 and 6) (which is as shown in the figure), the axial pretightening force is increased. According to the novel long shaft coupler, the shortcomings in the prior art are overcome, and the transmission torque can be effectively enhanced.
