TL;DR: The Y-chromosome pool of the ethnic Russian population of Novgorod oblast (Russia) was studied and revealed the specific “Balto-Slavic” cluster of STR haplotypes, which is frequent in Baltic-speaking Lithuanians but infrequent in Finno-Ugric speaking Estonians.
