An experimental study on the bond strength between reinforcement bars and concrete as a function of concrete cover, strength and corrosion level

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of corrosion on the bond strength between reinforcement bars and concrete was studied in a series of experiments, and the relationship between bond strength and concrete strength in uncorroded specimens differed from that of corroded specimens set in high-strength concrete, which caused a sudden loss of bond strength.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relationship between impact energy and compression toughness energy of high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple, economical, and practical drop-weight impact testing machine was developed to determine the impact resistance for high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete (HSFRC) composite.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of silica fume and steel fibers on some properties of high-strength concrete

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of silica fume on the properties of high-strength steel-fiber reinforced concrete (HSFRC) was investigated by using silica-fume of two different percentages and three different hooked-end fibers namely, 30/0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 by volume of concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recycling of copper tailings as an additive in cement mortars

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of pre-wetted tailings at 0, 5, and 10% addition level by mass of cement on the fresh and hardened properties of mortars was determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reusing copper tailings in concrete: corrosion performance and socioeconomic implications for the Lefke-Xeros area of Cyprus

TL;DR: In this paper, results of an experimental investigation of the reinforcement corrosion performance and cost efficiency of 0.57 and 0.50 w/b ratio concrete containing copper tailings either as a cement replacement or an additive material are presented.
