TL;DR: The Earth Observing System Microwave Limb Sounder measures several atmospheric chemical species to improve the authors' understanding of stratospheric ozone chemistry, the interaction of composition and climate, and pollution in the upper troposphere.

Investigation and amelioration of long-term instrumental drifts in water vapor and nitrous oxide measurements from the Aura Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) and their implications for studies of variability and trends
Nathaniel J. Livesey,William G. Read,Lucien Froidevaux,Alyn Lambert,Michelle L. Santee,M. J. Schwartz,Luis Millán,Robert Jarnot,P. A. Wagner,Dale F. Hurst,Dale F. Hurst,Kaley A. Walker,Patrick E. Sheese,Gerald E. Nedoluha +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the first 15 years of the Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) measurements from the NASA's 190 GHz subsystem, along with other 190 GHz information, with a focus on their longterm stability, largely based on comparisons with measurements from other sensors.
Earth Observing System (EOS) Aura Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) Version 3.4 Level-2 near-real-time data user guide.
EOS MLS Level 2 Data Processing Software Version 3

TL;DR: Combining both the retrieval and simulation tasks in a single piece of software makes it far easier to ensure that identical forward model algorithms and parameters are used in both tasks, and dramatically reduces the complexity of the code maintenance effort.
Journal ArticleDOI
EOS MLS Science Data Processing System: a description of architecture and capabilities
TL;DR: The architecture and capabilities of the Science Data Processing System (SDPS) for the EOS MLS is described, which processes and reprocesses the science data for the entire mission and delivers the data products to the Science Computing Facility and to the Goddard Space Flight Center Earth Science Distributed Active Archive Center, which archives and distributes the standard science products.
