Simulation of corona discharge in point–plane configuration

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical technique is proposed for determining the distributions of electric field and charge density in the case of a positive corona discharge in gas in the point-plane geometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrocoalescence of water droplets in an insulating liquid

TL;DR: In this article, the basic processes leading to coalescence of small droplets of conducting water dispersed in an insulating liquid are examined in the case of an emulsion flowing between two coaxial cylindrical electrodes and subjected to an electric field.
Journal ArticleDOI

A conduction model of the electrorheological effect

TL;DR: In this paper, a conduction model is proposed to explain the electrorheological effect under D.C. or low frequency A.C fields, and an approximate analysis taking into account the bulk conduction of the solid and the nonlinear conduction properties of the liquid is confirmed by experiments on large scale spheres.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corona discharge in the hyperbolic point-plane configuration: direct ionization criterion versus an approximate formulations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented an algorithm to simulate the electric corona discharge in the two-dimensional hyperbolic needle-ground plate configuration, where the boundary conditions for the space charge density are derived from the direct ionisation criterion.
