A gigantic industry which influences many people with thousands of programmes in many languages is the small screen that owns certain programmes such as serials, reality shows, music, excitements, information, sports, cartoons, etc., and has produced numerous celebrities, some of whom even attaining national fame. Having attained the firm footing in the industry, almost all channels from different states concentrate on retaining their audience by injecting inquisitive elements in the programs. To emphasis on the factor of flexibility to offer the creative work, which allows additions and deletions, it is found to be the serials and Reality shows are apt enough. Entertainment in installments is famous by creating immense interest and curiosity in the minds of the viewers of especially Indian channels. Serials are series of television programs and radio programs that rely on a continuing plot that unfolds in a sequential episode-by-episode fashion. On the other hand recently developed concept of reality shows compete with serials in gaining the considerable craze amongst all segments of viewers. The history of reality shows on Indian television is more or less a story of aping the western shows and has been increasing by innovative thoughts. The demand for these two specified programs in particular has created a space for the marketers to effortlessly reach the mass market through advertisement of their products and sponsorship of serials and reality shows. There has been a conflict between serials, reality shows in terms of which would put on more reputation as well as revenue, and it is similarly important to take viewers’ considerations, behaviors, situations and scenes into concern while debating on the levels of importance for both the programs. The study has started at this point and the significance of the credibility of both programs is to be evaluated by the common audience group, which would of course be an advantage to the marketers while taking, decisions where to contribute their efforts of stimuli. This paper explains the discrimination of some common traits among both serials and reality shows with distinguished facets of viewer influences in companion with the analysis using the PROC GLM procedure in SAS for one factor (Two levels) between programs’ design with multiple dependent measures.
