Journal ArticleDOI
The EIRENE and B2-EIRENE Codes
TL;DR: The EIRENE neutral gas transport Monte Carlo code has been developed initially for TEXTOR applications and can be used to solve more general linear kinetic transport equations by applying a stochastic rather than a numerical or analytical method of solution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation absorption effects in B2-EIRENE divertor modelling
TL;DR: The 2D tokamak edge plasma simulation package B2-EIRENE has been upgraded with a model incorporating the effect of Lyman series photon trapping and ionization from photo-excited states.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transport of neutral particles in turbulent scrape-off layer plasmas
Yannick Marandet,A. Mekkaoui,Detlev Reiter,P. Börner,P. Genesio,F. Catoire,Joël Rosato,H. Capes,L. Godbert-Mouret,M. Koubiti,Roland Stamm +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of turbulence on the transport of neutral species (atom, molecules) in plasmas is investigated and a stochastic model relying on a multivariate gamma distribution is introduced to describe turbulent fluctuations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-linear effects on neutral gas transport in divertors
TL;DR: In this article, the EIRENE code is extended to solve the Boltzmann equation with a non-linear BGK-model collision term added to its standard linear collision integrals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy and convergence of coupled finite-volume/Monte Carlo codes for plasma edge simulations of nuclear fusion reactors
TL;DR: First results with more complex models show that an order of magnitude speedup can be achieved without any loss in accuracy by making use of averaging in the Random Noise coupling technique.
